Chief of Police William (Bill) Caskey

Chief Bill Caskey was hired as the Chief of Police for the Village of Granville in December of 2014.  From 2012 to 2014 he was a Law Enforcement Consultant for the United States Army, and from 1987 to 2012 he was with the Columbus, Ohio Division of Police, retiring as a Lieutenant. Chief Caskey holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from Regis University.  In addition, he is a graduate of the United States Navy Inspector General School; the Police Executive Leadership College; and Northwestern University's School of Police Staff & Command. Chief Caskey is a member of the IACP and the OACP, and serves in an advisory capacity for several law enforcement related groups. As of January 1st, 2017, the Granville Police Department will have five sergeants.  Sergeants Jim Mason, Suzie Dawson, and Scott King are full time sergeants, and Sergeants Brian Costa and Charles Marcum are part time sergeants.

K-9 Officer Moke started her service with the agency on November 3rd, 2017.  Officer Moke is a State Certified K-9, and is assisted in her duties by her human, Jon Dailey.  Officer Moke is originally from Estonia, but understands English and German as well.

Officer Doug Eckhart joined GPD after serving with the Columbus Police for 30 years.  He has experience in patrol, investigations, and as a member of a tactical team.  Although Officer Eckhart has retired again, he remains a part of the Department as an advisor.

Officer Lee Ericson is currently assigned as a reserve Patrol Officer.  He is a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force, and a graduate of both the Air Force Community College and the American Military University.  He is currently working on a graduate degree.

Granville Police Officers Dependents Fund Board

Sara Lee has served as the Chair for the Police Applicant Interview Board.  These volunteers have helped select the last three police officers which the Village has hired.  In April of 2016 she was appointed by Village Council as one of five members of the Police Officer's Dependents Fund Board.  Ms. Lee is a graduate of Moorhead State University, and received her Masters from Kent State University.  She is the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Associate Director of Athletics at Denison University, and has been a Granville resident for 28 years.
